Here’s How To Put Some Fun Into Your Travel Photos

Let’s go to Hong Kong and Macau together!

Are we there yet? (photo provided by Linda Ng)

Most people pose in photos the same way, some with a pastier smile than others. I have the same generic smile. Smiles are great, of course. It’s infectious to see happy people.

But seeing the same pose and expression in every photo isn’t particularly exciting.

Not wanting to succumb to mediocrity, I changed this up on a trip to Macau/Hong Kong. Instead of the typical pose and smile, I tried something different for a bunch of pictures.

The sign says something similar to limping on the stairs. So, I made a silly expression. (photo provided by Linda Ng)

I showed the photos to a coworker. By the time she finished, she was rolling over in heaps of laughter. I made funny expressions and silly poses for a lot of the photos. Her reaction was priceless!

There was a lot of hill walking in Macau. I pretended to look exhausted. (photo provided by Linda Ng)
I’m not sure why I was doing that! (photo provided by Linda Ng)

That’s the type of reaction I love. It also made me relive the trip and brought back stronger memories. It made such a big difference!

My coworker found the photos hilarious. It was a pleasant surprise because that wasn’t my initial intention.

I suppose it’s because it’s unexpected. Most people pose like a model in photos. They’ll take measures to accentuate their best facial features.

They won’t want to look silly.

Me? I just want to express how I’m feeling at the moment!

When I look back at the photos, I’ll vividly remember the experience. I’d like to do this for all my future photos. It’s even better if the photos can be as candid as possible.

Oh, and it’s a bonus if it makes someone else laugh! Did this story make you smile or laugh? If so, I’d love some claps and a comment from you!
