Why has no one told me this before?
Here are some tips for editing poetry on Medium
Medium’s Poetry Handbook

As the editor of The Power of Poetry, I am contacted daily by poets interested in learning more about how to edit poetry on Medium. The responses are listed below.
The Benefits of Editing Your Poetry and Why You Should Give It a Try
🟢 How to avoid unnecessary extra space (double-spaced) when formatting a poem.

If starting a new poem from scratch, hit “Shift+Enter” after each line.
🟢 How to edit things like the header, title, and kicker

You are able to include a link into the very first text that your audience reads thanks to kicker editing.

The same holds true for the subtitle; you may make changes to it by clicking on the small letter “T.” The big letter “T” is set aside only for the title.
🟢 Why Your Poem Is Not Viewed

In the section labeled “More Settings” you’ll find the answer to the question of whether or not your poetry will be shown.

In the “Topics” section, you have a choice of five different subject areas; however, if you do not pick “The Power of Poetry” your chances of being very visible will be significantly decreased ; )

It is important to have a title that is compatible with search engines like Google, which means that it should include between 40 and 50 letters. When you want to maintain your visibility beyond Medium, this is a vital consideration.

“SEO Description” is where you add the keywords that will be used to find your poetry when others search for it online.
🟢 Why Your Poem Is Not Read
No one reads your poem since they don’t want to click on your link, a common problem on Medium. I’ve included instructions on how to fix it below. Also, how to choose an attractive image is detailed HERE.

Alternative text, also known as alt text, is a text description that is added to an image on a website. This text is important for search engines because it helps them understand the content of the image and improve the accuracy of their image search results. In addition, alt text is also important for users who are unable to see the images on a website, such as users who are visually impaired and use screen reader software to browse the web.

When you click on the picture while you’re editing, the symbol for the alt text will appear (click). My poems use alt text to expand upon the piece’s subject matter; this seems helpful for visiting (viewing & reading numbers).
🟢 There are still more medium secrets I want to disclose, which I will do in the second part of this article.
