Here Are 8 Awesome Places I Visited in Ireland — Part 1
Check out these amazing places I visited in Ireland and Northern Ireland!

I visited Ireland in 2016. Aside from Iceland, this is probably one of my favourite trips. Hey, there’s only a difference of one letter anyways!
I planned the itinerary myself. It’s my favourite way of travelling. I feel restricted by tours, so I like to customize every single detail on my own.
We spent about a week in Ireland and I enjoyed every minute of it. Here are all the places I visited!
1 — Kilmainham Gaol
Have you ever visited a prison before? I certainly didn’t have that experience! I couldn’t pass up the chance in Ireland. This prison is now a museum. I’m not sure why I didn’t take more photos here!

2 — Tollymore Forest Park (Northern Ireland)
I probably don’t need to make too many comments here. It’s a beautiful park to visit! It’s open all year round and you can get a ton of stunning photos.

3 — Giant’s Causeway (Northern Ireland)
This was one of my favourite places. There are over 40,000 basalt columns here! It looks so unique and I really enjoyed exploring the area. We did take a thousand photos here, but I only chose a couple to share here.
If you are planning a visit, make sure you stop here. Giant’s Causeway is located in County Antrim on the north coast of Northern Ireland.¹
There is no admission fee, unless you want to go to the visitor centre.

4 — The Dark Hedges
Are you a fan of Game of Thrones? Then you can’t miss this place! The road was featured in Season 2, Episode 1. Arya Stark escaped from King’s Landing, disguised as a boy.²
Sadly, I’m not a photographer, so my photography skills did not do it enough justice. The two rows of beechwood trees, planted in the 18th century by James Stuart are simply breathtaking. It projects a mysterious and enchanting aura. The beautiful images are forever ingrained in my mind.

5 — Cliffs of Moher
It’s impossible to visit Ireland and not check out the famous Cliffs of Moher. I remember it was raining and very cold when we went. There was also a bit of fog, so I couldn’t fully enjoy the views.

6 — Bunratty Castle
If I’m not mistaken, I bought a cutting board from the souvenir shop here. I’m not sure why.
The surrounding area is very nice, I don’t remember actually going inside the castle for some reason! They hold medieval banquets here, but we didn’t get a chance to check that out.

7 — Adare Village
I added Adare Village to my itinerary because it just looked so cute! It’s a really nice area and the little thatched cottages are very colourful.
There’s a reason they call this Ireland’s Prettiest Village!

8 — Lough Gur Heritage Centre
Check out the world’s largest stone circle and enjoy some time around a beautiful lake! Unfortunately, I didn’t spot any fairies anywhere.

WOW! This story took me so long to write, partly because I had to look for my photos.
It’s only part of what I saw in Ireland too! There’s going to be a Part 2.
