Her Morning Feelings
A Poem

The sound of the wind, could be heard, as she opened her window, And then a lonesome bird, perched itself right there, and then its song told a story, about her that morning, that she longed to hear…
There was this harmonious melody in the air, and everywhere, that lit up her soul with glee, That must have been, The harmonious sound- of her thoughts; since they felt freer She thought to pray that morning so she wouldn’t feel bitter
When she looked outside- and sipped on her coffee, it tasted so sweet and warm… even though it was rainy; and the grass was mossy-
And the harmonious melody of the bird - that she heard, the one that resonated in the air, and in her soul, that was now everywhere, that reminded her of the time when, As a young thing with ethereal wisdom that only five-year-olds have, she trusted blindly in God’s master plan…
The Birds could all be heard chirping outside… she decided to linger in that corner for a while, stifling a yawn, Moving away finally after taking in the morning air, Touching the walls, caressing her hair, Looking at the peeking sunlight coming in through the window Realizing slowly that the dusk was slipping away And is now but a shadow…
And she realized that the day was full of hope, new experiences to try and life’s endless game show that will also soon be a testament to God’s wisdom, and her wanting to try everything new under the moon, Knowing that the day will wither away and pass, the real gift is knowing ‘This is the way it is, Alas!’
