When we were holidaying in Ireland, a friend suggested we visit a quaint, medieval town.

Her daughter was aged five years old and overheard us talking about going out for the day to Kilkenny.

Her daughter burst into tears and when asked what was wrong, she said “I don’t want to Kill Kenny”.

It transpired you see they have a good family friend called Kenny and her daughter had thought …

It was all cleared up with a simple explanation, but it does make you think what we take for granted as adults, that children will interpret differently.
