I am inspired to write this article after reading the following article

I have highlighted several paragraphs in that article, as I can learn from some and some others, I could relate to my writing style.

Here is one paragraph that I highlighted and choosing to follow what I learned:

I give myself freedom to flex my creativity. I explore whatever interests me in the moment.

I am doing just that now.

The weather here is sunny, clear, and perfect. You cannot ask for more.

However, I am guilty of not taking a specific action.

You might wonder what is that specific action.

I realized that I’m spending more time doing relaxing low intensity activities such as gardening and walking outside.

I am not doing HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) that I used to do during wintertime. I felt guilty.

So I searched for home workout programs on my favorite Heather Robertson’s YouTube channel

The Guilty Part (GP) of me was just looking to do a 30-minute home workout exercise, just to accommodate its immediate need.

As a scrolled through the various exercises in the channel, my Logical Part (LP) wanted to do a combination of cardio, strength, and abs.

Both my GP and LP partnered together beautifully and selected a perfect 36 minutes home workout exercise. I’m sharing the link below

Why am I sharing all this with you?

We all go through situations when it seems that for no reason, we feel guilty. In this case, I knew very well that gardening and walking also contribute to physical activity and my well-being. However, I felt guilty.

I acknowledged and accepted the Guilty Part (GP) and I did not feel bad about feeling guilty. Once I did that, my Logical Part (LP) helped me choose a perfect 36-minute HIIT exercise that I thoroughly enjoyed doing. Being in a state of enjoyment and feeling proud with humility itself is therapeutic and healing in my opinion.

Today’s takeaway FDH ( Feel, Deal, and Heal) method:

  1. It’s okay to feel(F) the not-so-great emotions like guilt and accept it as a Part (GP) instead of resisting it.
  2. Once you do that, your thinking Logical Part (LP) recruits itself to deal(D) with GP.
  3. When your emotional part and logical part work together, you can view matters more accurately, and your emotions don’t rule you. You feel self-regulated and healed(H).

Now it is your turn…

How do you address situations when it seems that for no reason, you feel guilty?
