Do You Have the Courage to Live Before You Die?
The clock is ticking. Don’t go ‘Oops I never lived’.
Be brave enough to be bad at something new. ~ Jon Acuff
News flash: Life is terminal and no one makes it out alive
Okay, yeah that wasn’t the most shocking thing you’ve read today, but the truth still remains the same.
Don’t tiptoe through life hoping to come out on the other side unscathed, only to get to the end of your life and realize “Oops I never lived”.
Life favours the brave.
I don’t mean the sword-wielding, medieval armour-wearing, march towards flying arrows type of brave.
I mean the everyday kind of brave that shows up when it’s safer not to.
The type of brave that I am being right now, putting words after words out there even when I have doubts that they will impact the reader in any meaningful way.
The kind of brave that’s ready to test the limits and do what it takes to go the farthest they can go.
The kind of brave that shows up, ready to love the forgotten, encourage the weary, and be a light to brighten their days.
The ones who truly live are the brave ones. Those who give themselves permission to truly live.
To make mistakes, to falter and fall again and again but get up stronger, kinder, more whole, more human.
If you hold on too tight to life, trying to preserve it, you only end up losing this one chance of a lifetime.
Be Bold Be Brave Take up space
Have the Audacity to think you can live a life of impact and then go right ahead and do just that.
Fully commit to life and fully immerse yourself in this human experience.
Being human is messy, complicated, and full of contradictions, but it’s also beautiful, exhilarating, and worthwhile.
Every tick of the clock is whispering to you:
You’re still here, you still have time, get up and live.
Do something new, and be your own kind of brave.
~ Deola
