Writing With a Creative Twist
Every day keep your eyes and ears alert, so you can enjoy the things that happen as you go about your activities. Some of the items can be very funny if you add a creative twist to something before, during, or after the event. Even very mundane tasks can have a humorous slant added to them.
See if you can take an ordinary task ex: brushing your teeth, and see if you can turn it into something funny by adding a creative twist. Think back to things that might make that event humorous.
Perhaps things could happen to a tube of toothpaste. You might squirt toothpaste on the mirror. You might have the end of the tube have a hole in it. Then think about the brush and what could be humorous about that. It could be a color combination of the brush, and maybe it broke when you were traveling, and you had to figure out how you could use it with just the brushes and no handle.
The more possible things you could have to happen, in this case, a simple toothbrush, the more creative twists you can have happen. You can continue to gather things related to that topic and use those bits and pieces in a variety of your stories.
Enjoy the things that happen as you go about your activities
Everything is fair game for gathering ideas and turning those events into funny stories by adding those creative twists. Jot down ideas as you go through life and from conversations, watch TV, or listen to the radio. Whatever makes you laugh is a possible way for you to re-frame your ideas.
