Happiness is a Choice
We can discover our happiness on all the little things

“There’s nothing like deep breaths after laughing that hard. Nothing in the world like a sore stomach for the right reasons.” ― Stephen Chbosky
I believe happiness is an idea. We, humans, have devised this term to explain a feeling. So, technically, you and I have the power to use it in our own way. Do you want to be happy? Call yourself happy.
Find happiness in all the little things in life.
You are that much happy as you think you are
Imagine a morning when you are walking to your office. And you are aware of the tough day ahead. There is going to be an important meeting where you might have to give a presentation. You are in a lot of distress. Anxious maybe.
The thought of that meeting is ruining your peaceful morning walk. You are not in a state of mind to see the birds chirping, the cool breeze softly rubbing themselves on you, and the butterflies.
But all you can feel is the butterflies on your stomach thinking about the meeting ahead.
You have the choice to be happy. What surrounds you in your morning walk is beautiful and can definitely cheer you up, provided you allow them to.
“Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.” ― Abraham Lincoln
Happiness is not ready-made
No one can feed you happiness. It shapes itself based on your actions and reactions. It depends on how much you want to be happy. Happiness is a choice.
“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.” ― Dalai Lama XIV
In the above example, had you prepared well for your presentation, you would have confidence. The more confident you are on your abilities, the less stress you take. And the less stressed you are, the more you can enjoy the moment.
It all depends on your actions. Happiness is there for you to take. Happiness is there for you to choose.
“For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
