Abstract

Just awakened, Jack's lip is humorously hitched on his fang, making him look less fierce than usual. The author, Susan Alison, who took the photo, reflects on the similarity between humans and dogs in their not-so-photogenic morning states, emphasizing the need for coffee in her own case. Despite Jack's intimidating ivory display, the dog is not perceived as threatening. The author shows consideration by not disturbing Jack's sleep further after taking the picture. Hanging Fang

Six Word Photo Story: Freestyle

Poor doggo has just woken up.

Poor Jack — it’s not fair to laugh. I’m not too great when I’ve just woken up, either. Especially not before a few gallons of coffee.

Jack’s not allowed coffee.

In his sleep, his lip had ridden up exposing his fang.

Even with his ivory on show, he doesn’t look that fierce. I expect he could if he tried, though. He probably would if I kept waking him up just to take a photo …

I took the picture and let him go back to sleep. Next time I looked at him his tooth had been tucked away.

Thank you Mary Chang Story Writer for your publication!
