Haiku — 0012: Unyielding

Never gonna give up….

Image generated with DALL-E

Sprained foot, ragged breath,

Steps in the ring yet again,

Master of his pain.

For this one, I tried to move into the domain of human experiences, unlike the traditional Haiku with a kigo and deriving wisdom from a natural event. And my story in the dojo is perhaps very close to the poem above.

Towards the beginning, and I dare say, even now, getting a sprain, braving a fall, falling out of breath, these are all very common and very frequent at every training. But beyond that exasperation, is excitement. And as they say, giving up is not an option. Relax, recover, regroup, recoup, but after all that, RETURN. The fighting ring called World is not waiting for me, just like the dojo will not.

So, we go down, but never out.

Yesterday’s Haiku —

A few other articles that go into my story of Taekwondo if you’d like to know that part!
