Guns and Pies, and Bear, Oh My!
We were afraid he would be angry, but he was still hungry.
The random word of the day is cot.
Drabbles are short — 100-word stories.
“When you are discontent, you always want more, more, more. Your desire can never be satisfied. But when you practice contentment, you can say to yourself, ‘Oh yes — I already have everything that I really need.” ~ Dalai Lama
“Quiet, don’t wake up your papa just yet.” Mama Bear whispered to Baby Bear.
She rushed putting more berries into a basket at the foot of the old cot where Papa Bear had fallen asleep.
He had run home from hunters and was angry that they’d chased him. He flopped down into sleep.
Rising from his nap, he quickly grabbed the berries. Smiling at Moma and Baby before devouring the entire basket.
“I dreamed three men with guns were chasing me for eating pies.”
Scratching his head, he went back to sleep. On his paws were pieces of pie crust.
“There is no end of craving. Hence contentment alone is the best way to happiness. Therefore, acquire contentment.” ~ Swami Sivananda
