Guarantee for a rainbow on every sunny day
My favorite destination for rainbows, and the magical land of Niagara Falls

When Dr. Preeti Singh shared the weekly prompt of thoughts and perspectives on rainbows, all I could do was smile. That is what rainbows do to me, bring an ear-to-ear smile, ALWAYS!
It is not easy to see the magical rainbows. But whenever I see one, that place starts becoming special to me.
I once left a work meeting only because a rainbow had suddenly emerged in the sky. A fond memory of mine is from a street in Goa, India, when everyone paused whatever they were doing, to run up to the roof and capture a rainbow.

And the one place, where you are almost guaranteed a rainbow every time it is sunny, is the mighty Niagara Falls.
Rainbows at Niagara are created by the mist of falling water, and it is surreal. The falls are intimidating, to say the least, the rainbow makes it beyond real. It is a scene from a fairy tale, just that it happens pretty commonly. So much so, that Niagara tourism promotes the rainbows and falls together.

When I moved to Canada, the first thing I did was embroider a rainbow with the word ‘ibtidaa’ (New beginning), that was my way of accepting and belonging to Canada. Rainbows to me mark the beginning of everything good, everything positive.

But when I went to Niagara and saw the falls and the magnificent rainbow for the first time, I felt that Canada has reciprocated and accepted me as well.
Niagara falls will always be a place to seek rainbows for me. Even in harsh Canadian winters, when it was snow all around, a visit to Niagara and a rainbow lifted my spirits.
I know that if I am ever down in life, I just need to head out to falls, let the water and sun do their magic, and bask in the glory of colors, all seven of them.
I also recently found out (courtesy Ying Kong) that my name in Chinese has a rainbow in it.
I finally have some explanation for the rainbow madness.

Have you seen a rainbow at Niagara Falls?
