Hello and nice to meet you!!

Hi Globetrotters. My name is…

Linda

I come from…

a bone-chilling and snowy place with ketchup flavoured chips, poutine, and something called Timbits. I’m wearing a toque as I write this. Any guesses?

I work as a…

By day, I’m a boring analyst who stares at Excel spreadsheets all day.

Yawn. By night, I’m just boring without spreadsheets.

Aside from my full-time job, I also have a few things on the side. I teach kids English on a part-time basis and of course, I write on Medium!

I’m not sure if this counts, but I also manage two YouTube channels!

Yea, I’m nuts. Maintaining the channels require a lot of time and effort.

I’ve been working on them for a couple of years now and sadly, I’m still not monetized. What the heck!

So, feel free to check it out and subscribe if you like the content! Shameless plug, of course!

I love to travel because…

There are a plethora of reasons for loving to travel. If I had to choose one, I’d have to go with freedom.

It’s a temporary freedom from my dreary, mundane responsibilites. Instead, I can do whatever I want and whenever I want.

No more scrubbing the dust off the baseboards for a week. Yahoo!

If you want to read a short blurb on my love of travel, here’s a one minute read for you. Short and sweet!

But hey, finish reading this story before you click away! I know I’m boring, but I have a lot to say about travel!

The best place I’ve been is…

No doubt about it!!! My beautiful followers will know this off the top of their heads. It’s gotta be Iceland. It’s the best place for so many reasons.

The stunning scenery is only one thing. Yep, I’ve already written a story on it!

In my spare time, I like to…

I’m a really active person. When I’m not working, I like to play badminton, hike and take walks! Did I also mention travel?

Oh. I also love to eat. Nom nom. That’s the main reason I am so active.

Because I need to work off all the food I’ve stuffed into my poor stomach!

It’s a vicious chewing cycle I can’t get away from. The more I exercise, the hungrier I am. It’s never-ending, bring on the buffet!

My top travel tip is…

Travel alone! If you ever get the chance, explore the world without bringing along any family or friends.

It’s an incredible experience and something you have to do at least once in your life.

No more waiting around for others anymore. Just get up and go!

If I could live somewhere else, I’d live in…

I’d live in a place far from the city! Ideally, it would be some sort of animal sanctuary. Just the sound of grass, me and the animals!

Hm.. what sound does grass make?

My favourite way to travel is…

I love planning out my itinerary and doing research well ahead of time. In general, I’ll have an outline of what the trip will look like and must go places.

The itinerary isn’t set in stone though. I also like trying new things along the way or just going with the flow.

If I suddenly discover an alluring place that I didn’t see before, I’m game to add it into my day!

Three lessons I’ve learned from travelling are…

1. Try everything, especially all the experiences you can fit into your trip.

Think about it — This might be the only time you ever visit a certain place. Make the most of it! You’ll be glad you decided to wear a Mario outfit and have a go kart race around Tokyo. Simply amazing.

2. Travelling teaches you how to solve problems and make snappy decisions.

Lost baggage? Hotel ran out of rooms? Blisters on your feet from walking in a bad choice of footwear?

You learn to think quickly on your poor feet (haha) and solve problems as they come up.

3. You learn about what you need and what you don’t need to live.

When you travel, you only bring one suitcase or maybe two if you want to bring the kitchen sink.

But as you travel more, you start understanding what sorts of things you actually need to survive.

Who knew that you could get away with wearing the same pair of leggings for a week? Or that you really didn’t need that toner for your face?

I guess I didn’t really need the sink after all either.

My number one travel activity is…

Usually, I want to travel for only one purpose. To see the world’s beauty!

That’s why most of my destinations include places like Iceland, New Zealand and Switzerland.

I love seeing mountains, glaciers, oceans and the stunning scenery!

Hiking is great!

Oh, I’ll admit it. I also enjoy trying new foods and shopping of course!

And there you have it, more than you ever wanted to know about me and what I think about travel.

Hope you enjoyed this blurb! In case you fell asleep, wake up! The story is over. Phew.

If you’d like to find out more monotonous details about how boring I am, feel free to check out the “About Me” that I wrote awhile back! Grab a coffee first.

See you soon and thanks for reading!
