Give a Little… Get a Lot
3 powerful changes to live an exceptional life
We currently live in an unprecedented time in history where humanity is witnessing the fruits of its harvest. Its been an interesting spectacle.
You can have a life filled with abundance if you become keenly aware of how one particular law works.
The Law of Reaping and Sowing is a basic yet powerful law. It transcends any spiritual belief, any emotional state, and any financial situation. It does not matter your belief system, the law is what it is and it will bring forth the fruits of your labor.
Another name is the Law of Cause and Effect.
Sowing is another word for “planting”. (giving)
Reaping is another word for “harvesting” (receiving)
Simply put, if you sow kindness and compassion, you will receive kindness and compassion. If you sow negativity, you will receive more negativity.
“Life is an echo. What you send out comes back. What you sow, you reap. What you give, you get. What you see in others exists in you.” — Zig Ziglar
Here are three areas in which the Law of Reaping and Sowing affects everyday life:
1. Change Your Thoughts
Thoughts really are things! And they are powerful things. It doesn’t matter if it’s a big thought, or a simple little one, they are equally powerful.
Most people go through life and completely disregard the “programs” in their supercomputer (the brain). They are oblivious to how the thoughts in their head are actually projecting out on to the screen of their life.
This is more than just “thinking happy thoughts”. Yes, that is important. But it’s not a utopia either.
Thoughts must be monitored, or they can run amuck. You must be aware of the type of thoughts you are having. If the chatter in your head speaks of worry, doubt, and frustration, you will receive more worry, doubt, and frustration.
If you are traveling down the rabbit hole of worry, doubt, and frustration and become aware of what is taking place, you can stop at that moment and redirect your thoughts. By redirecting your thoughts you are shifting your mental state and raising your awareness. You are slamming the door on negative thinking.
Instead of worry, doubt, and frustration, you shift your thinking to confidence, trust, and appreciation. Your mind is set free of its temporary jail sentence, and you start reaping better results and positivity.
2. Change Your Words
Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Yes, this is scripture. And it’s very true.
Cher even sings about this through her song lyrics “words are like weapons, they wound sometimes”. While we may not mean to hurt someone else, we can be oblivious to what comes flying out of our mouth.
Your words become your reality. Are you speaking positive words or are you speaking negative words? Are you building people up or are you tearing people down?
If you are speaking positive words, but having negative thoughts, that won’t work either. You will create confusion, and you will receive more confusion.
“Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?” — Buddha
There’s already enough confusion in the world. Don’t be a contributing partner.
3. Change Your Actions
The actions you create are a byproduct of both your thoughts and words.
I recently wrote an article about why it’s so vital to creating a vision for your life. You can read the article here.
If you don’t take action, nothing happens.
If you sow absolutely nothing, you reap absolutely nothing. It’s the law.
If you want something to happen, you need to start somewhere. That somewhere typically starts with the supercomputer between your ears. Remember, thoughts are powerful little things.
Those powerful little programs will come out in the form of your reality.
“Take action in order to move toward your goals” — Les Brown
If you want to start with something as basic as happiness, sow more happiness in the lives of others. You will reap an abundance of happiness in return.
We could all use a little more happiness in the world these days!
Final Thoughts
To live an exceptional life, you need to master the Law of Reaping and Sowing. There are some changes that need to take place.
The three areas in which the law directly impacts include the thoughts you think, the words you speak, and the actions you take.
If you do nothing in any of the three areas, you will receive nothing. In fact, you may bring about more confusion and disharmony to your life.
Get very specific about your thoughts, words, and actions. You will harness the energy of those positive results going forward.
All three of these changes take daily practice and effort. You must put the work in to produce a change. When you do, you will begin to see a transformation in your life.
