Prioritizing Things That Matter

I maintained a 21-days writing streak. I am happy and excited that it is pushing to achieve a new target. When I will reach day 100 I will set even a higher target. But this 21-days challenge came at a cost I am trying to compensate now.

I used to publish in the last hour every day. It felt like an obligation in the starting times. What things do we leave to do in the last hour? Things that have least value or become a task just for the sake of checking off the to-do list.

I don’t want to see myself writing this way. Even though the feedbacks from the readers show that some of the best pieces came in those first 21 days, the mornings will be even better. I have experimented with other skills and I know whenever I set a new challenge to tackle in the morning time, I do it with a fresh mind and maximum energy. That’s why I love morning workouts now. I can talk about them all day.

This Is The Best Writing Advice I Have Read So Far.

There are so many ways to succeed at writing based on what successful writing looks to you. For me, it is to keep publishing at the same time every day while improving my quality of writing.

That’s it. I trust the system and I have no goals with it. Because goals change with time as you learn by exploring every aspect. Journey is more exciting than the goal achievement status. I will keep learning and see if there is a need to monetize writing in the future.

Right now the sole focus is to consistently improve the quality of writing. And by quality I mean strong vocabulary and expressive words.

New Experiment

Today is day 1 of morning blogging, 23 overall. First thing I do after freshening up in the morning is workout at the terrace. I am right now in my activewear with workout mat staring at me. Time is 6 AM.

Though it is a start and a short read, the next one will be even better. I will never stop experimenting because learning happens best when you explore with time about what trade-offs you can afford in an experiment. The only challenge is blocking some time right after waking up. If I can block 30 minutes today, I will block 40 minutes tomorrow. And soon will I have sufficient time to draft and edit all in an hour.

This article belong to a series of articles I am publishing in this 100 days writing challenge I have set for myself. After day 21, here is the 22nd article that will document the remaining one till day 100. Navigate to its end to see a reference list sorted by day number.
