Summary

Dancing Elephants Press is launching a series of initiatives for 2023, including a new photo column, a continuation of their poetry column, scheduled Zoom meetings for community engagement, and a collaborative book project, all aimed at fostering a positive and creative community for writers and authors.

Abstract

Dancing Elephants Press is gearing up for an exciting year with several engaging projects planned for 2023. The press will introduce a new photo column by editor Vidya Sury, which will complement the ongoing poetry column curated by Sharing Randomly. These columns are designed to share stories and memories through the powerful mediums of photography and poetry. Additionally, the press will host Zoom meetings to strengthen community ties among authors, editors, and contributors. A significant highlight of the year is the planned book project, inviting active Dancing Elephants Press writers to submit a letter of interest for participation. This book aims to immortalize the writers' stories and provide a platform for them to become published authors. The press is also open to collaboration and support for its writers, encouraging them to reach out with ideas and projects. The initiatives are part of Dancing Elephants Press's mission to spread joy and positivity through storytelling and collaboration.

#4. NEW BOOK 💝💝🐘🐘📚📚

Ready? Lift off….

The reason for the book is to continue with our mission to spread positivity and joy in the world. Additionally, to keep our stories alive as they disappear from readers' eyes on social media and Medium platforms after a few weeks. Creating a book you can read online and hold in your hands is a great way to keep the amazing stories you write alive. It is a nice transition to start your author career by publishing a book together and collaborating.

Yes. We created one amazing book last year. Holistic Journey Toward Wellness is one unique book. The book was a great undertaking. We are planning to continue this tradition in our publication. We are scaling down for our next book, with fewer topics and fewer authors. A smaller project is easier to manage for us.

Now it is time to make another one for this year. We will start by asking current active Dancing Elephants Press Writers to submit a letter of interest addressed to your editors stating why you would like to participate in our book project.

🎉Priority will be given to writers of Dancing Elephants Press who have been submitting multiple articles per month to the publication.

We are planning to choose the 10 participants by the end of January.

The deadline to submit a letter of interest in our 2nd book project is by January 27th. Participants will be announced at the beginning of February.

  • There is a specific tag for this column: #Dep Book Project
  • Also, use the tag #Dancingelephantspress
  • Please put in your subtitle: Letter of Intent to DEP book project #2
  • Address your letter to your editors Dr. Gabriella Korosi, Sharing Randomly, Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles, and Dr. Preeti Singh
  • The topic areas we decided on are in our 52-week prompts including Spirituality, Inspiration, and Joyfulness.
  • Participants will need to register on the Draft2Digital website
  • Participants will need to send a word document with their submission of the topics to Dancing Elepahts Press e-mail no later than March 15th.
  • Participants will need to submit a Biography to Dancing Elaphts Press that will be part of the book by February 28th.
  • Word count for the articles minimum of 800 words.
  • Previous articles submitted to 52-week posts on the 3 topics can be edited for the book and submitted by e-mail.
  • Authors are required to participate in WhatsApp and e-mail conversations, and Zoom meetings as needed to collaborate.
  • Once participants are selected, a consent form will be sent to your e-mail for the book project.
  • Profits from the book will be equally divided amongst the authors with 1% more for your editor’s hard work.
  • You also have to be willing to promote the book.
  • No embedded links can be present in the word documents.
  • One photo only please with the medium article. No photos for the Word document.
  • The articles have to be about personal experiences and without plagiarism.

Thank you for reading and looking forward to seeing your submissions with your letter of intent.

We are planning for a possible 3rd book this year or next year depending on how the project will be going with a smaller author group. More to come later this year.

#5. COLLABORATION

As mentioned in our end-of-the-year article Dancing Elephants Press is open to collaboration and support of its writers and authors.

“Additionally, Dancing Elephants Press is committed to providing support for the writers and authors in this publication. Reach out with any collaborative ideas, if you would like to publish your own book and need support if you like to publish a book through Dancing Elephants Press on Draft to Digital or on Amazon, do an interview, or request an author profile or book review.”

Here’s my video introducing all the authors of our first collaborative book, Holistic Journey Toward Wellness

We would love to highlight an author every month. Please reach out if interested.

Have a wonderful and joyful day,

Gabriella
