Get Over Your Victim Mentality
The feeling of being helpless or powerless and being controlled is awful
This week alone, I read two articles from members here on the Medium platform about Epigenetics. Both give contrasting views, and I know the reason. Both are right. Initially, it was the belief that our behaviours are in our genes, and there is nothing we can do about it. Here is Jan Sebastian, story on that.
Jan Sebastian’s theory was before further study was carried out on epigenetics, and the further story was the one Dr Mehmet Yildiz, wrote about. A further study indicated that our genes are only responsible for about 5% of what happens in the body. And that we have immense power over our health and behaviour.
However, the study of epigenetics has shifted more towards the power of our DNA, and the conclusion is that our DNA is only a blueprint, NOT our destiny.
Lifestyle Is The Key
If our DNA drives only 5% of what happens in our body, what happens to the other 95%, one may then ask? The other 95% is determined by our life choices, i.e. lifestyles, sleep patterns, nutrition, exercise, and other key issues in managing stress that is bound to develop in our day-to-day interactions.
Dr Bruce Lipton, an internationally recognized person to study the gap between the body and spirit, wrote this in his findings:
‘’Now, in the experiment that blew my mind, I created 3 slightly different versions of the culture medium, by changing some of the constituents. I put these 3 different environments in 3 different Petri dishes, but all the dishes had portions from the same culture of genetically identical cells in them. As a result, cells in environment A became muscles. In the second Petri dish with genetically identical cells to the first but in a slightly different environment, the cells became bone. Then in the third dish, again with genetically identical cells but a different environment, the cells became fat cells. Now you are left with a very profound question: What controls the fate of the cells?’’
What Happens To Those Hereditary Signals?
It is true that we have certain traits from our parent's or relatives' past, but it is we that are attracted to these traits (in the spirit realms). And that means we cannot blame any of our relatives for passing any trait to us. We are given a pathway, as to what we are coming down to learn. We determine those traits we want and are attracted willingly to those persons with the traits. This is a theory of homogenous species. Read Dr Mehmet Yildiz’s article on what can and can’t control,
A BBC, documentary, discovers children’s lives are massively improved when the impoverished conditions change, not minding that the lives of these children were awful for a very long time.
These studies encourage parents not to give up on their difficult children, and us adults that we can become what we dream to be, no matter what. There is NO victim, only Victor, and Valour
The Takeaways
- The victim mentality stops development in a positive way and denies one the joy of living.
- The victim mentality is just a negative mindset that should be erased from our lives.
- It is difficult to build a sustainable relationship with someone with a victim mentality.
- At the end of the day, no one is a victim, unless we refuse to use the talents entrusted to us, and we each have talents, irrespective that the talents are unique and varied, they are nevertheless adequate for our life’s journey.
