Galactic Council Considers Earth’s Future Part 5

The Galactic Council convened for a periodic meeting. What is now referred to as the ‘earth issue’ was on the agenda and it was the Arcturian’s time to address the body. The nine principal Council members formed a semi-circle in front of Arctur and in turn were enveloped by the 420 members, each encapsuled in cubicles suspended in orbs of shades of light. “You have our undivided attention,” the Council Chair informed Arctur.
“As you recall from my previous presentation, the planet earth is in a state of distress. The current civilization was seeded in its current cycle by the Reptoids, under sanction of a treaty with this Council. The Reptoids created a hybrid race for the purpose of serving intergalactic adventure travelers at an entertainment destination. Their plan was to entrap the souls of the earthlings in a continuously recycled series of lifetimes, but their efforts fell short and over many time cycles some of their subjects evolved and became harder to control.
“The Venusians, the Galactic Ambassadors of Free Will, observed this and began to reach out to teach the earthlings that there was an option to the endless cycle of rebirths into slavery. This has inevitably created a conflict between the forces of authoritarianism and Free Will, and it is projected to reach a potentially cataclysmic point in just a few earth cycles.
“I have asked Vanna the Venusian to provide this Council with their perspective on the status of the earth conflict.”
The Council Chair spoke. “Our delegate Riki the Reptoid has asked for the opportunity to respond, which I have granted.”
Vanna presented a statuesque figure at eight feet in height, with long golden hair that shimmered with diffused light as she began to speak. “It is with great humbleness that I address this most omnipotent Council. As you have heard, the earth planet has grown to eight billion sentient beings and supports a delicate balance of plant, animal and mineral life as well. Yes, the Reptoids secured certain rights to this planet, at a time when it was covered with water and there was not much other interest in such a planet with a history of failed civilizations.

“Those earlier civilizations had once thrived, and those souls, like us, were free to experience universal life. Many were originally from Venus, its close neighbor, and I have lived my own life cycles on earth, first in the civilization they called Atlantis, and then in later incarnations.
“What I learned was that the new earthlings, primitive as they were, had the potential to evolve but they were tightly controlled by the Reptoids for the purpose of exploitation. Their DNA had been engineered so that upon their physical expirations their souls were chained to the earth for continued cycles of servitude.
“I, and other Venusians who incarnated on earth over many lifecycles, found that the earthlings were intelligent enough to receive our teachings. This has been a tedious process, but the timeline is changing now. Many of the earthlings have learned how to evolve and escape the control of the Reptoids.”
Riki the Reptoid interrupted. “You acknowledge that we created this civilization, as inscribed in a treaty, but you have interfered with orderly control and now threaten the stability of the entire planet. As you know, the Prime Directive prevents your direct interference in our sovereign civilization.”

“You mean your slave planet,” Vanna retorted forcefully. “The Directive does not cover slave states, and we are not directly interfering. Free Will is a universal right, and you are denying it to them.”
“Sure, free will is a universal right,” Riki responded, “and the earthlings have that right, in another dimension, but not the one where they live. But it is not my planet. We have treaty rights, but that does not make it our planet. And you do the citizens of earth an injustice by calling them slaves.”
“I call them slaves because your powers of manipulation are far more advanced than their ability to resist. And do not deny that your race is in control of that planet.” Vanna’s hair projected a golden halo as she spoke.
Riki responded. “Control? Do you think that planet is easy to control? Have you visited the Cat Planet of Pintac? Those cats are much easier to control. The earthlings are impossible to control. We were distracted for a moment by an imploding star in our galaxy and meanwhile they’ve started a new war. They prefer feudal states to an orderly world government.”
Vanna pouted her pale lips. “Yes, for a race of control freaks, you do seem to be losing your grip on earth. Many earthlings are opening all their eyes. They are ready to integrate into the next dimension and escape the prison cycle.”
“There’s just one problem,” Riki countered. “We have property rights. The earthlings are our property, according to a treaty sanctioned by this Council. This intrusion by the Venusions constitutes theft of property. We have legal rights that are totally being ignored.”
The Council Chair spoke. “All right, I think we’ve heard enough. This has been a long day and our next session is happy hour. This meeting is adjourned.
