The Most Infamous Hare

Me: Let’s do it a bit faster. We are getting late for school.

Daughter: Mom, no rush. Remember, the turtle only won the race. Not the Hare.

Me: Well, that happened only once. And that’s why we still read about it.

Daughter: 😳 😳 😳

The Negotiation over a Cup of Cabbage

I was at my wit’s end in parenting pants tired of making her finish the vegetable. I had to run to a work meeting in a few minutes.

Me: Alright, I will give you $5 to finish the cup of cabbage.

Daughter: Make it $10, Mommy.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. And had no time for further negotiation.

I left the note near her cup and went to my meeting.

Cabbage is one of her favorite veggies now. Trust me, the ROI[Return On Investment] is definitely worth it.

Between you and me, that was the only time, I ever paid her to eat 😁

The Wonder Bag of Mommies

Sahana is about to enter the stage for her dance recital, all dressed up.

She has the urge to drink water but is helpless that she may spill over water and ruin her makeup.

I gesture her to wait and put my hand inside my handbag in search of luck. TADA! I pull out a Starbucks straw.

Impressed Daughter: Mommy, how did you do that?

Me: Your mom is a genius!

Daughter: What?! Did someone say that to you?

Me: Well, I tell it to myself! Every day! 🤪

The Careless Tooth Fairy

My daughter wakes up a bit earlier than usual expecting a present from the tooth fairy. Her tooth broke last night.

And Yes! I forgot to put the dollar bill under her pillow.

Daughter in a disappointed tone: Mommy, didn’t the tooth fairy come last night?

Me: Oh Yes, she did but only had hundred-dollar bills. So she went to get some change.

Daughter: How could she be so irresponsible? 😳
