Full Bloom
Even presidents stand at attention during this spring celebration
You — peaked out from beyond winter’s pale face and made an early appearance this year.
Showed — pink, white, lush and lovely on the avenue and basking in the birth of springtimes past.
Our — sometimes heroes sometimes betrayers, like Washington, Lincoln, but especially Jefferson —
Presidents — set in stone, who linger in your glorious path of a glorious past
What — things are really like in D.C., the Heart of America.
Majesty — with winsome pulchritude, modest humility and shy but brave grandeur —
You possess.
All of this in each bloom you present to the world.
