If the Shoe Fits…
Flip-flops never lie

I’ve never surfed — because I prefer to walk. Steadily, with great purpose — toward the Sea.
I embrace the Waves — while working against a Rhythm that has other ideas — like flinging fiberglass boards my way.
Avoiding those Novices — all twisted toward overcoming the Expert I know I can be — While I conquer the Pacific Barefoot.
Forever companions — beating a certain Thwack! on the bottom of equally Weathered Heels — Frequent Flyers even when they stay behind.
Absorbing a decade — or maybe more of treks toward Family — wished along on run-down Soles.
This Soul knows — of course I do, that Flip-Flops never lie in the pop and the lock — the smack and the crack of every Beach Dance.
Even when we both realize — the secret of this Convoluted Pirouette means, yes, Sometimes — logging more miles without them.
