PHOTO-A-DAY CHALLENGE
Frosty Mornings, Crisp Views, and a Warm Snack
1st Week of November
Day 1
November brought frosty mornings. I snapped a photo of this frosty crisp leaf on my way out the door. It may be a little out of focus. It wasn’t yet fully light out. Maybe a shiver shook my hand or that is just what cold looks like.
The cover photo is about forty minutes away, almost at work. There was a bit light but the field was still frosty, offering a crisp view. I am in awe of how quickly the seasons change.

Day 2
This is one of my regular walking trails, but I have never seen a large ship on this narrow stretch of the river. I wonder if it was rerouted due to the shipping problems that have caused delays around the country. I was looking at some beautiful fall colors on the other side of the trail when I noticed these crisp pops of unexpected colors through the trees.

Day 3
When I came into work everything from on top of my desk and drawers was neatly packed in boxes. I wasn’t fired, I was getting a new cubicle desk. It was nice to redecorate — no clutter, or a lot of clutter, depending on your perspective. I only sit at this desk a couple of days a week, but I have made it a nice retreat with photos and a plant.

Day 4
I left a little early for work so I had time to pull over to capture a couple of interesting scenes. On the left, I saw the bench facing the memorial-like plaque on a rock. I wondered what it was and if anyone sits to observe.
I also noticed the first tree by the path was damaged. I wondered how that happened and guessed it was probably the lawnmower.
Then, I noticed the sun peaking through the trees at the top of the path like a light at the end of a tunnel of trees.
I also looked back after I passed under this bridge. I like this view of the Schuylkill River in the distance. Some days I drive along the river for a bit of my commute. There are crew teams rowing until it gets a bit colder. I was thankful for the heat blasting in my car on another crisp morning.

Day 5
Looking out the windows of my office I saw the tips of the bridge above the trees. I thought, hmm…I am closer to having a waterfront office than I thought. There is water under that bridge!

Day 6
A favorite fall snack with simple ingredients: maple syrup boiled to a froth, add pecans. Best served when still warm.

Day 7
I went to a bridal shower and thought the guest gift was very creative and fun. They had vases and a create your own bouquet station. This is what I made.
The venue was a distillery and they sold Capri-Sun-like beverages with alcohol and a straw. I don’t drink much so I bought some to bring home for guests. I have some friends that will think these are fun.

Final Thoughts
It is important to find things to warm our hearts when frost is nipping at our toes and our noses. These are a few of the things that brought a smile to my face this week.
Thanks for reading! I hope everyone finds ways to keep warm and smile, even through the seasons of frost.
