Friends: Harmonize Like a Choir
Maya Angelou said, “Everything in the Universe has a rhythm, everything dances.” Friends enhance the dance.
I hate it when a challenge someone sends But since it’s a prompt about friends… Even if there is a requirement of time, for my friends, I’ll do it anytime.
So, what are friends? I guess it depends You must decide. It has nothing to do with trends My idea of friends has surely changed since my prime In the olden days, my friends would drink with me anytime
Now my friends are almost all a writer Yet my life couldn’t be any brighter When I open the Facebook group 24-Hour I find a stack of friends like the Babylon Tower.
What more could anyone want or desire? But to have friends harmonize like a choir Now my time’s up, I’ll pass this on to another pup.
I thought this would be more difficult. I had nearly ten seconds left. Thank God no one said anything about quality, huh? I seriously could not have a better group of friends than those in the 24-Hour group.
I know you are the master writing about leadership, Bill Abbate, but will you take up the challenge “About Friends”?
A while back, Gayle Kurtzer-Meyers buzzed the little Bee to carry on a prompt. She said, “This poem was written in response to the writing prompt ‘About Friends.’ The secondary requirement is that it must have some rhyme and be completed within 60 seconds.”
This is her poem “About Friends.”
Here is Melissa Bee’s response where she challenges Kim McKinney.
In case you’re not aware, I only recently started writing a little poetry. This is why Kim McKinney challenged me to step out of my comfort zone.
