Friday Struggle Bus
Showing exceptionally poor taste for 8 weeks now!
Don’s Corner
This is turning out to be more of a journalistic “time-out” corner for me than a regular feature, but I am working through that gradually.
This week we marked the return of fan-boy! If you recall, we had a bedroom ceiling fan that made too much racket for sleeping. So we looked until we found a good replacement fan to stop the noise.
We ended up having to wait weeks and weeks, ostensibly because of covid. Late in the summer, it finally arrived, and we sought out and engaged FAN-BOY to install said fan.
As he was leaving, he mentioned, almost as an afterthought, that this fan now was making some noise, too.
After several animated conversations between the manufactured and my wife, an agreement was struck and Fan II was shipped.
Upon its arrival, we sought out and engaged FAN-BOY II to install the new fan, FAN II. as he was removing the old (new) FAN I from the ceiling, he remarked that the wiring was rubbing on one of the moving parts, making the noise.
He simply repositioned the wiring correctly and the fan was quiet.
We re-packed FAN II to return to the manufacturer and paid FAN-BOY II roughly the same amount as we had paid FAN-BOY I. The only difference is the overhead light now is operated by the remote control over beside the bed.
My big excitement, in the beginning, was to finally have a light to turn on when entering a dark room without having to grope my way to the bedside table, a situation which we had achieved with thunder-fan, FAN I. Now again, we had no light switch at the door but we surely couldn't hear the fan.
At the end of the ordeal, I still have to carry a flashlight to go into my bedroom, but I have paid a fair amount of money twice. The fan is silent. So am I. I will not ever mention it again.

New newcomers, followers, and subscribers on parade
“Newcomers, followers, and subscribers on parade,” will no longer be a regular feature showcasing those who have joined us recently because of HIPAA Privacy Compliance regarding obvious mental conclusions.
Thank you, however to those who have started following me and especially to those who subscribed. I will not go into my usual soliloquy regarding the value to you and to me of subscribing. But THANKS!!!
Coming Attractions
“Upcoming attractions too good to pass up.” These stories are in the process of being written and will be published soon for your enjoyment. This too may become a regular feature. “Previews without Trailers,” a daring look into the future is now. As soon as we can afford it.
With a past like we had this week, we can now only hope for ONE SUCCESSFUL OUTCOME.
