20-DAY POETRY CHALLENGE

Freedom

A poetry prompt for day 17

Photographer Artem Beliaik from Pexels

“To convey, conceive for and of myself, be independent enough just to be ME, is pure freedom.” — Josh Balerite Acol

Intensely wondering what thoughts might seem trying to engage how my sentiments would be

reaching out within my soul digging deep to the innermost of my core

voicing out what matters most disseminating all when I intend to

where thou I’ll be why I am speaking to you oh how lucky I really am I can pen down

unfathomable musings I can pour out what I mean— this thing called FREEDOM

Finally, I do swear to myself — I am home!

Freedom for me is the act of expressing your innermost thoughts, your feelings, and anything you want to share with the world without the intervention of anyone.

This free-verse poetry is for the 18th-day prompt of my friend Sahil Patel’s 20-day poetry challenge.

Shoutout to all my poet friends who joined this goal — dear Bhav Bhavna Narula, Geetika Sethi, Ntathu Allen, Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她), dear Doc Fam Dr. Fatima Imam, and dear Doc Dr. Preeti Singh.

Thanks so much for reading! Be well and safe ever.
