Ella stumbled, her heart pounding against her ribs. “I heard it, Cade,” she gasped, eyes wide with fear, scanning the eerie, moonlit forest.

Cade, arm in a sling, grimaced, his pain mirrored in his stormy eyes. “It’s closer,” he whispered.

They had come seeking the truth behind the village’s disappearances, only to find themselves hunted by a horror unseen, its presence a cold whisper against their necks.

They faced the beast, its arms grotesquely broken. “We stand together,” Cade vowed.

Ella nodded, her voice steady, “Always.”

Together, they embraced the challenge, their spirits unbroken, even if their bodies were not.
