Ella eyed Cade’s latest gadget. “Another storm in a bottle?”
Cade grinned, his blue eyes sparkling. “Not just any. It’s a tempest tuner. Watch.” He twisted a dial, and the bottle hummed, then fizzed—the room filled with a light breeze, carrying the scent of rain and adventure.
Ella laughed, her green eyes reflecting the storm’s chaos. “Of all the skillsets, you choose tempest tuning?”
“It’s niche I know,” Cade admitted, shrugging. “But when has normal ever changed the world?”
As the miniature storm danced between them, Ella couldn’t argue. Their talents might be limited, but together, they were boundless.
