Forget Your Ex, Go for the Next
Don’t water the bad memories. You’ll grow nothing but pain.

It’s hard, isn’t it?
When I let go of the girl I loved in my early university days, I thought it would become so unbearable to live without her company.
It’s been almost nine years, and see — I am great without her.
Now I consider that small romantic-downfall as an insignificant event that happens in everyone’s life. Because there is nothing wrong with any bad experiences if you can turn them into learnings.
You know, shit happens! But life goes on. Time heals everything — even the deep cuts. Thus, we grow and become mature.
Nobody should live in the past-shadow. Of course, you can learn from past experiences. But please don’t let the past-memories kill your present happiness.
I understand that sometimes, it’s extremely tough to forget the past. It can be a romantic downfall, job loss, relationship failure, conjugal complexities, abusive childhood, betrayal, disloyalty, disagreement at the office, conflicts, and so on.
Life is hard, and bad memories make it even harder. But, when you keep those unpleasant experiences alive in mind, you are the one who loses the game.
Remember, emotions run the world. And people who can control their emotions become the winners.
Do a simple thing. Pretend that you have no bad memories — you have only some learnings that come out of a few unpleasant experiences.
Forget your ex, or whatever it is
Believe it or not — forgetfulness is a blessing.
It is a crucial part of our day to day life. Just think about it — if you remembered everything you experienced so far, how could you live your life?
It would become a burden to bear. You would become overwhelmed by the surge of unwanted past thoughts and memories. Your life would turn into a living hell.
A new study from psychologists at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, reports that an average human has 6,200 thoughts per day.
Now tell me — how many of the thoughts can you recall from yesterday?
See, you don’t carry this tremendous thought-burden to the next day. Then, why do you allow the bad memories to pollute your mind all through your life?
Why not forgive and forget? Trust me — it helps.
Take note of the most enjoyable ones and forget everything else. It’s completely okay. Otherwise, your mind will collapse as the bad memories will destroy your peace of mind. No one can bear the load of the unwanted burden that happened in the past.
Forget the person broke your heart — the incidents ruined your childhood — the events made you cry — the thoughts crippled your mind — the shock destroyed your happiness.
It’s hard I know, but please try.
Just remember the learnings and forget everything else. You will feel better. It will remove the heavy-stone from your heart and free your mind from anxiety and stress.
Change your mindset and prepare you for the next adventure.
Go for the next
You don’t know what is waiting on the next page of your life as you cannot predict tomorrow. But it can be a great adventure if you are ready to embrace it with an open mind.
You cannot predict the future — and this is great. Because when you don’t know it, you can make it as you like. The opportunity is endless.
You may find a new opportunity, meet a new partner, discover your hidden genius, build some new habits, learn a few life-changing lessons, get an incredible idea, start a new business, or develop some sweet-relationships.
Forget the bad things bothering you and experience the next adventure life offers. Understand and appreciate life as a whole.
Please, don’t cry like a baby because nobody cares. When life hits you hard, you must give it back harder.
Replace your sorrow with enjoyment, and repair your life with excitement. Do not wait for others to remove your distress. All you can do is keep breathing and enjoying the present moment you have in our hands.
Final thoughts
Live in the present moment. Forget the bad memories — because they are already gone. Go for the next adventure. Make your life full of happiness, excitement, and joy.
People and events come and go — it’s natural. Remember, life is an eventful journey. You can make it better or bitter.
Keep enjoying the present!
