Flood
A Poem
Either way someone or something wanted a clean slate
to start over all over this world in
every culture this time period was done for.
Flood mythology, backed up by the archaeological records
backed up by creation stories backed up by the sense of knowing
the feeling of wanting to scrap this and try again either God, or the Earth, or the myriad of Creators
were just over it, over us, over the humans save for a chosen few, I suppose — but all the rest
had to go, wiped out, waters rising and rising waters cleansing and cleansing —
fresh. Like the earth taking a bath after a long day.
Self care, to steady, dry off, and
face the situations anew
