A Poem

We are pretty cute, really so flowing, so diverse,

with all of our styles and all of our verse,

just look! There’s a poet for every season for every rhyme and every reason,

we know the rules, and then we break them,

we mix up peace and comfort with a little bit of word mayhem —

we stay one step ahead, we give you all the feels —

and then, we sit back and wait in dread,

to see what might be on our reels, who will read this,

who will like it, who will call it real or not —

we have always had a way of spinning straw into gold,

of making something from nothing, of bringing you in for just a minute, just a bit

be it in a greeting card, journal, or on the internet

poets, we are delightful, and we know it!
