Floating On A River Of Love
How to relax and let life flow

“May what I do flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back, the way it is with children.” ― Rainer Maria Rilke
For seven glorious days, we floated on a lazy river at our hotel in Las Vegas. We found joy around every bend and love in every drop of water. I am so grateful for our time together.
I could completely relax and let go because of my loving friends here at Thank You Notes.
Thank you to Dr. Preeti Singh, Gurpreet Dhariwal, Bhavna Narula, Adelia Ritchie, and Fiza Ameen for their help editing, publishing, and writing the weekly newsletter in my absence.
Because of their love and care, I enjoyed each day to the fullest.
Each morning after breakfast, we embarked on a free-flowing adventure down the lazy river. Supported by loving water, we relaxed into our day.
Every day, I learn how to let life flow. My son is my teacher because he knows how. This is why the lazy river is his favorite pool.
All through 2020, he dreamed of this vacation. He contented himself with the little backyard pool we set up and dreamed of the day of our trip together.
Each day while floating on the water, I felt the love all around me.
It was the love of my family and the love of friends near and far. As I shared my daily adventures with friends over messages, I felt my heart grow.
I feel loved, supported, appreciated, and cared for by beautiful souls. That is a love that sustains me every day.
Here are three lessons I learned while floating on the lazy river.
Let Life Flow
The current of the lazy river was strong yet gentle, just like life.
Sometimes we get caught up in the circumstances in our lives or dwell on past events. That can stop the flow.
Let all worries slide past you.
Allow life to flow through you. You can become a conduit for change. Your heart is meant to flow from you to others.
How can you allow life to flow?
Delight In The Obstacles
At times, there were obstacles in the lazy river. It could be a large group of people floating slowly or kids splashing around.
We had fun laughing, smiling, and dodging every obstacle.
It was fun to see everyone enjoying this river differently. Some people were very active, swimming their way through the river. Others floated slowly, a drink in their hand.
My husband and son loved to race each other through the lazy river. They tried to see who could reach me first.
They were sometimes delayed by circumstances out of their control. However, the object was to just have fun. In that way, the obstacles presented a unique challenge for every race.
How can you have fun going around the obstacles in life?
Trust In Friends
I enjoyed every moment of our vacation without worry because I had complete trust in my friends.
Dr. Preeti Singh and Gurpreet Dhariwal communicated their love and care to me every day. For that, I am so grateful.
Their love, friendship, and kindness flow straight to my heart like a river.
When you completely trust someone, you can let go and let life flow.
Let yourself float on a river of trust.
I feel joy, contentment, and love, right where I am. I can let thoughts, worries, and difficulties pass right by me.
Trust is the answer.
How can you trust your friends to carry you?
