The Random Poetry Prompt

Flipping Random

You can thank Daniella Montage for this!

a random assortment of toys — hey! what’s that twittle doing there? 😆 (photo by writer)

Daniella did something random - she says it’s her Achilles heel - she wrote a cute micropoem telling Matt how she truly feels

A few weeks ago, Daniella Montage tagged me into her story, Random Poetry. She wrote about her Achilles heel and the wind, which would seem totally unrelated — or maybe not, depending on how randomly your brain works!

My brain must be pretty random because I wrote a twittle about her poetry!

I won’t let on any more about the story behind Daniella’s poem, except to say that it gave me the idea for a poetry prompt — hence the reason for us being here now. 😊

The Random Poetry Prompt

The fun thing about being random is that you never know where it will lead. If that sounds like fun to you, then you’ve come to the right place!

I’m borrowing the title of Daniella’s story and calling the prompt: The Random Poetry Prompt

… because that’s what it is — random poetry!

This is your opportunity to write a completely random poem about anything or everything or nothing much at all!

Your poem doesn’t have to make sense, however it does need to be decipherable (not unintelligible, k%f0j3!w7xn4p$*r gobbledygook!), and it does need to be presented as a poem — which given the scope of poetry can be anything and everything but not nothing!

.. no word counts, no line limits .. no special titles, subtitles, kickers, tags .. no timelines .. no limits on number of submissions

Publish your poem anywhere that takes your fancy on Medium — here at Paper Poetry would be fine.

Tag me into your random poetry piece so I can be less random about finding it! 😆

To share the fun, you can include a link to this story and invite (@ handle tag) other writers to join the prompt.

Flipping Fritters

I’ll get things flipping with a random twittle

It really is stupendous coalescing alone here in the dark flipping words like fritters in the hope one of them will spark!
