Summary

The MCU's exploration of the multiverse has opened up a realm of alternative storylines and character developments, as playfully showcased by fan interpretations and speculative scenarios presented in a series of articles.

Abstract

The provided content delves into fan-driven speculative scenarios within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), particularly focusing on alternative interpretations of characters in relation to gender identity, political satire, and pop culture crossovers. It presents a series of hypothetical narratives, including a non-binary Doctor Strange, a trans Ancient One, and Thanos' involvement in politics and business ventures like Theranos. These imaginative pieces are presented as fan fiction, emphasizing the infinite possibilities within the multiverse concept introduced in the MCU's "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." The author, Stephenie, encourages readers to consider these stories as potential canon in the vast expanse of the MCU, while also providing a light-hearted take on the franchise's limitless storytelling potential.

If You Were Confused By DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS…

Wait until you see what they left out.

The MCU has embraced the madness of the multiverse.

Whether it be the queer-as-hell Disney+ series Loki, the somehow-even-darker vision of the Good vs Bad Place in WandaVision (when will Kristen Bell get her own character, anyway?), or the culminating episodes of the animated What If…? series turning into a mind-blowing setup for the next phase of live-action movies, one thing is certain.

Marvel knows how to tell stories we come back for again, and again, and again. Do they get them perfect? Well, no (offsite link). But they come pretty close!

The MCU knows how to tell those stories so well that we will now gleefully throw our money at them to see how many of previous versions of those same stories and characters can be squeezed into a single movie.

I’m not complaining. I’m serious when I say I love every second of this madness. I’ve barely been able to contain myself waiting for the release of the sequel to Doctor Strange. And do you know how I killed time?

By visiting a few of the multiverses they won’t show you in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Think of these as fan fiction, if you want. The true fans know that in a multiverse of infinite realities, each one of the below may as well be MCU canon.

Here are five essential reads to hype you up for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

1/5 Wait…Doctor Strange is non-binary?? (SPECIAL GUEST: non-binary literary agent Naomi Davis)

This one owes just about every inch of gratitude I can spare to the phenomenal non-binary agent and author combo Naomi Davis. Along with being a leading agent for BookEnds Literary Agency, Naomi is represented by Tricia Skinner of Fuse Literary Agency.

2/5 WAIT…THE ANCIENT ONE WAS TRANS?

The Ancient One always knew her time was limited. The only mystery was what she would do with it.

Her ability to see into the future told her as much: a vast ocean of possibilities that forever ended with her standing next to Doctor Strange as they watched a sunset manifest through the breaking clouds of rain.

When she brought her awareness forward to that time, she felt a sense of wholeness.

But the question of how to get there?

Time and paradoxes were funny things. So many paths led to darkness. Death. Worse.

Only one path led to life.

Only one path refused to light the way.

3/5 Wait…Thanos is running for President?

That’s it. That’s the entire article.

4/5 WAIT…THANOS INVESTED IN THERANOS?

But then a portal opens and Elizabeth Holmes herself walks through.

More memes.

And a pretty cool video at the end.

If you can’t tell, I haven’t actually Multiverse of Madness, and given how nervous I get in public spaces (in a pandemic?!??), I might not see it until it’s out on Disney+.

Until then…
