First Signs of Spring

When nature awakens after a long winter

Just as I went for the first hike back in Germany I didn’t just see the “dead forest”. I also saw the first signs of springs. Flowers blooming. Butterflies hopping from one bush to another. Bees buzzing around. Birds singing.

All of it is just exploding. Full of joy and happiness.

The first flower was captured from my doorstep. Just next to the stairs leading up to the road they are growing in between the rocks. Bathing in the warm rays of sunshine on this warm spring day.

This selection of narcissus was found in a neighbor’s garden. In all shapes and sizes, they appear.

Additionally to the daffodils in this photograph, one can also see the bright purple shining hyacinths.

Senecio vulgaris. Common groundsel | Credit: Anne Bonfert

The common groundsel is native in Europe but subspecies are found worldwide.

Muscari | Credit: Anne Bonfert

I could only find out that this is a muscari but I am not sure which subspecies. They all look similar.

And last but not least I found this stunning beauty in a neighbor’s garden.
