Finding Amazing Images For Your Stories Has Never Been Easier
But therein lies the potential problem
How do you find the perfect image for your stories, blog posts, or emails? If you follow me very long, you’ll hear this quote a lot.

Medium makes it super easy to grab an image for your story. Click on the plus sign, type a keyword in the search box, and voila, you get dozens if not hundreds of image options to choose from. All courtesy of Unsplash.
For this story, I searched for an image using the keyword, “easy.” There were 134 choices. That can be a problem though.
With this technique, there can be a tendency to take the easy way out. Easy means a lot of people will be using this site.
Don’t you believe in easy Tim? Absolutely, but to a point.
The easy thing to do with a search is to select one of the first options. It could be a perfectly fine image like the one below.
This was on the first page of my search.
The problem is a lot of people will pick the first image they see in the search results. And if too many people pick the first image they see, that image will begin to show up in story after story. Ask me how I know!
The photo below is an exaggeration but it illustrates my point. The last thing you want is to have the same image show up in another story.
This image was discovered halfway through the search options.
Do you want your content to stand out from others? I know I do.
Does this mean I should stop using Unsplash? No! Unsplash is a great site.
Just use it differently. Dig deeper into the search results. Most people won’t take the few extra minutes that you will.
With a little patience, you’ll find some awesome images AND you’ll make your content stand out.
BTW, the main image for this story was on the very LAST page of the search results.
Daily Doable: Don’t be like most people. Dig deeper. Scroll through the search options. Those extra few minutes will be worth it. #DoWhatYouCanNow
