Fields of colors

Shots of colorful fields of crops and wildflowers.

One field, three colors

A crop field close to my house dresses in different colors throughout the year. It’s yellow in April-May when rapeseed blooms:

A rapeseed field near home, yellow in April but that will get red upon the invasion of poppies in May as shown below. Photo by author Luciano Abriata.

And it is red in summer when the poppies bloom:

The same field as above but shot in May, when rapeseeds were already harvested and poppies bloom. Photo by author Luciano Abriata.

The very same field now looks like this well into the fall, mainly green with autumnal colors in the trees:

Crops with a view

Continuing with this wheat plantation somewhere in the Gros-de-Vaud, from which you have direct views to the Alps:

And here another wheat field growing up a bit late. It’s still deep green, contrasting with the white-blue hues of the upper half and separated from it by a line of earthy and autumnal colors:

A plantation of Phacelia flowers:

This is a plantation of a beautiful forage plant I had never heard about, until recently:

Phacelia plants are not only beautiful but also useful for agriculture, as I explain here:

Cows paradise

This is near Romainmotier, which I portrayed here:

About the lead photo

The lead photo was shot in a field that is taken over by wildflowers in summer, in the Jura mountains in Switzerland:
