Falling in Love with a Stranger
Was she a real person or a ghost?
Recap: Hannah didn’t dream about Timothy for a few months.
On my way to the bar, I ran into a woman in princess pink dress. She caught my attention not just because she was wearing princess pink but also her continuous stare at me. As a singer and a fairly good looking one, I was used to getting women’s attention.
However, this woman was different. Unlike my fans, her stare was filled with anxiety, despair and desire. I didn’t like the attention she showered on me, and I disliked her as well. I continued walking, and the woman followed.
“What exactly does she want?” I was disgusted and quickened my pace.
When I reached the bar entrance, I saw the woman standing at a distance. She was still staring at me, but this time I saw only misery in her eyes. She appeared lost and devastated. I felt sorry for her. Unconsciously, I raised my hand and waved at her, which I immediately regretted.
When I last smiled and waved at a woman who was also a fan of mine, she mistook my gesture for an invitation and remained glued to me for weeks. I must not allow this to happen again. Without a second thought, I turned and walked into the bar right away.
I must be insane to wave at her. Thankfully the woman did not follow me into the bar, and I didn’t see her again until an early morning at the beach.
I was not a morning person, but I awoke early that day and headed to the beach in hopes to watch the sunrise. It was dark but I saw her immediately. She was alone on the beach, dressed in the same princess pink as before but a different dress and there was a faint green hue surrounding her.
Not sure why, I was instantly drawn to her like a magnet and approached her from behind. It didn’t take long for her to notice my presence. She turned to face me. I asked why she was there, she replied that she was in her dreams. Her response surprised me and ignited my curiosity in her.
I soon found out that her name was Hannah. She believed she was in her dreams, and this was the second time she visited the beach. I thought of the girl who drowned in the sea recently, but I dismissed the possibility that they were the same person.
I saw the girl’s photo, and they weren’t alike. Aside from that, the girl wore a white bikini when she was drowned, and the ghosts always appeared in the same outfit as when they passed. Perhaps she was another spirit? But I wasn’t scared or uneasy around her.
We talked for a long time until the sun began to rise, casting a rosy hue across the clear blue sky and gradually illuminating her surroundings. The golden lights were shining on the sea and changing the colour of the water.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” I was captivated by the colour symphony.
Hannah turned to face me and, to my surprise, kissed me on the lips. I was stunned for a split second before I started kissing her back passionately and deeply.
Perhaps because I hadn’t had a girlfriend for a long time or perhaps because sunrise gave people energy, I took Hannah back to my room and made love to her. We then dozed off in each other’s arms.
When I awoke later that day, Hannah had already left. Other than the messy bed, there was no trace of her presence in the room.
For days I looked around the resort for her, but no one seemed to have seen her. I began to wonder if my encounter was real or if I was dreaming. Is Hannah a real person or a ghost?
In any case, I wanted to see her again.
