Facing Emotions Isn’t For the Faint of Heart
But someone’s got to do it.

I once hid my sorrow, buried it far deep inside, Thought it best to ignore it, used my tears as a guide. If anyone asked what was wrong, I would say, These droplets are pleasure, now please go away.
To always be fearful, to never feel right, Left me feeling embarrassed, and amply contrite. I watched other people cope well with their woes, What worries they carried, no one really knows.
So, don’t take for granted, you know what is best. Everyone has troubles, each one’s on a quest. I now share emotion, wear my heart on my sleeve, I’m living my best life, it’s hard to believe.
Try unstuffing your feelings, let everyone see, That beauty inside you, your truth holds the key. Set yourself free, come out from behind bars, You are truly loved, cheer your emotional scars.
If you think I am preaching, please don’t lay blame Suppressing your feelings isn’t a game. So, before you do damage, or become too unfurled, Embrace who you are, praise your place in this world.
For the world you are someone, but for someone you are the world — Erich Fried.
