Fiction — to walk in another’s shoes and look through their eyes.

Currently, my fiction stories can be found in several Medium Publications: Fictions, The Lark, The Authentic Eclectic, Writers’ Blokke, and Illumination.
In 2021, I also published a fiction anthology, comprised of many of my Medium thrillers, on Kindle Vella.
My love of fiction started with reading the Nancy Drew Mystery series as a young girl. Not until college did I dabble in writing my own stories, but never for other human consumption. Until, one Greek Life play and one video production ~ both fiction, were written, scripted, cast, and directed by me in my early adulthood.
Performing on stage in a theatre gives us the ability to assume a character’s life and enjoy a temporary reprieve from our own. Years of acting eventually triggered my desire to translate that ability to the written word.
Fiction — to walk in another’s shoes and look through their eyes.
Before I began writing on Medium, I had a non-monetized website of non-fiction. It served me well as I got my feet wet in the writing world and I made the easy decision to start shutting it down.
My desire to create my own fiction took hold in early 2021. The fiction world was exciting as I investigated genres and styles, but thrillers speak to me.
My most recent work in progress started with a prompted first sentence for a prologue only. Fantasy isn’t my familiar place, and I decided it was time to stretch.
“The Old Hag With Fiery Eyes Holds The Valley’s Survival in Her Hands”
My biggest challenge is finding an audience for fictional stories. These two tales are near and dear to me, and I would appreciate more support for them.
My first stab at fiction, subsequently published on Medium, did receive much-appreciated feedback:
This second story has a special place in my life and heart with its peek into the world of autism. It never really made a splash but it’s a personal favorite:
My future in fiction comes as inspiration grows. Taking a reader on a journey is paramount to the development of a tale, a fable, or a thriller, and requires dedication.
I look forward to meeting my own new characters. I never know when the twist will appear.
A big thank you to Justiss Goode and Exposure for this opportunity.

Feel free to visit me in any of these places and say hello!
