Summary

The "Exposure Newsletter" has launched successfully, featuring new fiction writers, a collaborative sea stories project, and updates on upcoming publications.

Abstract

The second edition of the "Exposure Newsletter" has been released, marking a strong start for the publication. It introduces a consistent layout for future bulletins, aiming to provide targeted content for subscribers. The newsletter highlights the addition of new Medium fiction writers to its catalog, including Alize Henry, Kayla Hicks, and Patrick S. Smith, each with their own Exposure Bio pages. A top story details the positive response to a call for fiction writers interested in a group collaboration on "sea stories." Several writers, including Carolyn McBride and Ira Robinson, have expressed interest, and one story, "The Creature Beyond the Tide" by Kayla Hicks, has been particularly praised. The newsletter also reveals two book cover designs for the upcoming short sea stories collaboration, inviting feedback from readers. Additional news includes a forthcoming discussion on the publishing company name and cover credits for the book anthology, as well as a showcase of top "Exposure" stories from the past week. The newsletter concludes by encouraging readers to join Medium if they are not already members.

EMAIL BULLETIN #2 — Sunday: 6/12/22

Greetings:

To everyone reading, and welcome to this second edition of the brand new Exposure Newsletter and the corresponding Email Bulletins.

This second bulletin is set up and formatted in the layout style that you can expect to see going forward. I want subscribers to be able to zero in on the precise sections and areas that are most relevant to them.

So without further ado, let’s get to what’s been happening this past week, and what you can look forward to, in the week to come…

Recently Added:

This week, I welcomed the following writers, by listing them in to the slowly growing catalog of Medium fiction writers that I’m compiling.

You can view them on their corresponding Exposure Bio pages:

TOP STORY:

  • My story, asking for fiction writers who want to be involved in a group collaboration, seems to be catching fire. The very specific “sea stories” theme is apparently one that interests more than a few fiction writers.
  • So far, the following Medium writers have expressed interest in my search for short story writers: Carolyn McBride, Ira Robinson, JF Danskin, Lisa Gerard Braun, Walter Rhein, and Zoey Hale.

I noticed that these writers had not yet completed a questionnaire, containing their details for the Bio page, so I reached out, and hopefully we’ll get them listed soon. It’s totally my fault, because I discovered that I neglected to provide that requirement on the Questionnaire form, so I went back and added the following:

  • I have already begun reading the stories that have been submitted thus far, as well as reading stories submitted for writing samples.
  • I’m thrilled to report that I’ve found the first writer that I will definitely be asking to join the collaboration.

I absolutely fell in love with the story: The Creature Beyond the Tide — A Short Story by Kayla Hicks. Her story is sure to keep the readers engaged, from the moment they start reading.

BOOK COVER REVEAL

In preparation for the upcoming collaboration of short sea stories, I spent a little time, designing a simple, but hopefully — effective book cover.

The cover is in keeping with the aquatic theme, and the colors and layout that I selected is rather appealing — at least it is to me.

I toyed around with different aspects of it, including the text colors, and the actual structure of the layout. That’s how I came up with a second version, however I believe I still like the original one.

The covers are shown below, so after viewing them, feel free to leave a comment, as to which cover looks best.

About Book Cover Credits

A future discussion will focus on the “publishing company” name that will be used for the book anthology. It will also provide some important details about any additional text to be displayed on the cover.
