Evoking My Senses
I use my senses but do I?
I see the faint smile on my father’s face the worry in my mother’s pearl-grey eyes that does not seem to fade My lover’s smile which is like an open book I see all of that But do I really look?
I touch and hold my grandma’s hands so warm, they heal. I touch and hold my loved ones but do I really feel?
I hear the birds chirping with glee and the whooshing of the trees or my friends’ stories of their hopes and ambitions I hear them all but do I really listen?
I inhale the scent of my favourite flower or the soothing aroma of the book I read. I inhale But do I really breathe?
I eat the dish, I most relish it is an absolute bliss I try to savour every flavour but sometimes in haste. I eat every day but do I really taste?
Thank you for reading! Here are a few more poems written by me. I hope you like them! Happy reading ❤
