Everybody Clap your hands!

I’m a real newcomer to Medium, and as such I carefully read everything about how the platform works.

Well, clearly, not carefully enough…

On my morning dive into my suggested articles I came across an article talking about 50 Claps.

For those newcomers like me who may not know how Medium used to work, it looks like Claps were basically a form of currency — they had an impact on monetisation of articles.

I had no idea that you could multi-Clap.

With that exciting fear of the unknown, I liked the article.

Then I liked it again.

It worked!

I liked it again for good measure, and a new way of interacting with great content was opened up for me.

As I understand it Claps may no longer generate cash directly but they will boost the article with The Algorithm, so multi-Clapping will help get the articles you enjoy out to a wider audience.
