Enjoy The Joy Of Letting Go?

Be inspired to change and balance FOMO with JOLO

The new trend is to balance FOMO with JOLO

Now, what is FOMO?

FOMO is the term fear of missing out 😨

How do you describe JOLO?

JOLO is the joy of letting Off. 😅

FOMO

There are a large number of gadgets that we use today and we cannot do without them. To say that we should stay off our mobile phones or WhatsApp or face time is next to impossible.

My friend loves Instagram. She is an influencer and her primary job is to advertise products. She makes reels, takes pictures, and posts them. She also interacts with others.

Keeping on without social media is like death to me she says. 💀

This is where the danger lies and it is important that we have to get out of FOMO and balance it with JOLO

It’s certainly a thing not to be desired. It leads a person to keep on checking their social media multiple times so they don’t feel out of the loop of their peer group. They just think that they do not feel left out.

They feel that things are good with them but actually, they are anxious about things and never feel good. 👯👯👯👯👯

They feel isolated.

Psychologists pointed out that FOMO is a kind of illness.

Professor Barry Schwartz writes in The Paradox of Choice: Why More Is Less

“Stop paying so much attention to how others around you are doing”

Fomo consists of two steps:

-🔶 Perception of missing out

🔶followed by compulsive behavior to maintain social connections.

FOMO is not a bad concept if it helps you to grow and makes you work hard to achieve something but when it goes out of gear and it begins to hurt you need to check yourself and think of balancing it out with the joy of letting go.

JOLO

Let us describe JOLO. — - The joy of letting off

To achieve well-being enjoy the process of letting go. un-complicate your mind and free yourself from toxicity, acquiring more stuff or imagined needs.

If you are interested in gardening you can imagine that letting go of something or someone is just like weeding the plants and making them alive again.

When you clean the weeds it makes room for more of the beauty to be seen.

The process of letting go is like the following steps

💎 we let go of our extra material things and we begin to see them better as they are no longer crowded.

💎We let go of mental clutter. We get space for our creativity and full potential to flower.

💎Be inspired to make the change. It is very difficult to make the change and enjoy the process of letting off. You need inspiration and it can come by meeting someone, going to someone's home and feeling the clutter or the space that inspired you, or an incident that made you change yourself.

Cleaning out the clutter is a joyful experience.

I experience the joy of letting off when each time I get new clothes I give the older ones away. It gives me the joy of decluttering material things. I have left buying things for my home. I used to buy curios, art pieces beautiful lamps, and crockery.

I was getting my house painted and I gave away all my steel plates, thermos, and extra utensils barely used but not needed. Some of them had not even come out of their packing.

All these things I gave away to anyone who needed them, “My husband asked me what if you need these things”?

I said that I had not used them for 4 or 5 years and when will I need them. Giving away beautiful pieces of crystal glass and flower vases made the house look even better and less cluttered. This is the power and happiness of decluttering material things.

My friend was suffering from a toxic relationship. I advised her to let go!

She said, “What will people say?”

“Who cares what people say? You will be at peace” I advised her.

She left the relationship and came to my home. She stayed for a week and left for Sweden and is now a business lady of organic products.

Some ways of letting go

How do you release yourself from toxicity?

While writing this article I read Dr. Deborah M. Vereen-Family Engagement Influencer’s article Dancing on Graves

According to her -“healing and positivity emerge when you let go of things that have broken you in the past as well as those things that lack vitality and are simply dead in your life”.

  • Dancing is a way of releasing past experiences, hurts, sorrow, humiliation, and hardship. It sets you free to be who you are to enjoy your journey.
  • Walk every day and release yourself from stress. My friend does on-the-spot walking at home for ten minutes. She feels uncluttered and happy. She lost 7 kgs of weight and tension and looks bright and happy.
  • I uncluttered my material things by giving away clothes, shoes, excess home decorations, and lots of crockery and utensils
  • I also do yoga and meditations and would love you to do it too. It releases toxins.
  • I balance my FOMO with JOLO 😅

Do you believe in decluttering your mind and physical needs?

What ways do you adapt to enjoy the joy of letting go?

Who or what incident inspired you to make the change to move and feel the joy of letting off?

I invite you all to leave your thoughts on how you declutter and enjoy your life materially and mentally.

Just tagging a few Neera Handa Dr. Pam Winter, Pamela Oglesby, Umme Salma, Art Bram, Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar, Suma Narayan, Pene Hodge, Ravneet Kaur, Purbita Chakraborty, Charlotte Kingsbury- Fink, Marianne O, Terry Pottinger, Marta Henriques, Indigo, Jessey Anthony, Nicole Hilbig Ali, Janet Meisel

It is an open invitation for anyone who wants to write about their feelings and emotions. It is not restricted to the above. Just tag me when you write about it.

Thanking and tagging my fellow editors, Chief Lady Dr. Gabriella Korosi. Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles and Sharing Randomly to also contribute their feelings about FOMO and JOLO
