It is a five-line poetic form.

#1. The first line has two syllables. (2) #2. The second line comprises four syllables. (4) #3. The third line has six syllables. (6) #4. The fourth line has eight syllables (8) #5. And the fifth line has two syllables. (2)

This poetic format is invented by an American poet, Adelaide Crapsey, and is based on the Japanese haiku and tanka forms.
