Embodied Spirit
Reflections inside Reflections

Which is more beautiful, the view of the mountains or their reflection in the stillness of the lake? The whole image? Reality and reflection?
In this reflection that includes a reflection, the haiku pair reflect the way in which nature embodies spirit and through observation of this spirit, we see our own spirit reflected in the mirror of nature.
In another reflection, nature can be seen as embodying our deep capacity for peace and beauty when we find the internal stillness in the deep lake of our mind. Through observation and experience with nature, we allow a direct perceptual experience inside of us. Thus, in our own unique perceptions of the world, when still in mind and body, we also find peace and beauty. The mountains and the lakes offer a view for everyone even as our internal perceptions can vary in their reflection. Each reflection from this state, when shared, becomes a kaleidoscope that expands the dimension through which we can experience life. What do you see?
Thank you to Wendy McKinlay for the beautiful photograph. Please check out her work linked under the photo. I have no financial stake in her work, I’m just supporting a fellow artist.
