Summary

The text recounts the author's experience with a former police officer, Eladia, who infiltrated their druid grove ceremonies, potentially to gather intelligence for the French political police.

Abstract

The author describes a situation where their druid community, which celebrates both lunar and solar year wheel celebrations in a private wood, was compromised by a guest named Eladia. Eladia, who had previously been in the police force, attended the ceremonies and took photos of members without consent, raising suspicions that she might be spying on the group. The author, feeling the need for increased vigilance due to the authoritarian nature of the French state, especially after the yellow vests movement, decided to ban Eladia from future ceremonies to protect the privacy and sanctity of their gatherings. The incident has led the author to be more cautious when welcoming new guests and to use their intuition to detect any hidden agendas.

Opinions

  • The author expresses a sense of betrayal and unease about Eladia's actions, particularly her taking photos of ceremony participants without permission.
  • There is a clear distrust towards the French government and its surveillance practices, with the author feeling that their activities are being monitored because they do not conform to the state's expectations.
  • The author values privacy and consent highly, as evidenced by their policy of not taking photos during ceremonies and their shock at Eladia's breach of this unspoken rule.
  • The author believes in the importance of intuition and inner sight to evaluate the intentions of others, especially in the context of their spiritual community.
  • There is an appreciation for the prompt about boundaries provided by Diana C., which seems to have resonated with the author's recent experiences and learning.

How political police came to spy our grove

We have a druid grove and so we set up ceremonies for the year wheel celebrations on the four lunar ones : Samhain, Imbolc, Beltain, Lughnasadh and the four solar ones : both solstices and equinoxes. We accept members of other druid assemblies.

Our present spot where we celebrate is a private wood. Before, we celebrated in the Pyrenees, in a sumptuous narrow valley but it was too far from cities. So now we have more people coming. We had a guest from an other assembly whose name is Eladia. She came from the Atlantic coast thrice. It was very interesting discussing various matters with her. She was respectful and though I sensed she was on the fringe, very smart with an ambiguous and witty side that was charming. Through the last ceremony for Lughnasadh, I felt quick silent echoes from her, like a subtle reaction as I evoked briefly internal affairs in our network and an other time when I just pronounced the word psychedelics, in an enumeration. Then several days after, she told me that she had took some ceremony photos that she offered to share. To my surprise, she had taken photos of members. This is something I never do by respect, she did it as a guest!

Several days after I connected the dots, remembering she had been in the police. So I asked her to never come back , believing and following my intuition. I could not interrogate her as other members were present because they were not yet warned about it and I could not bear conducting a ceremony with this secret.

France has an authoritarian state, even more with the actual president and after the yellow vests. They want to have files about those who are not on the right track. I am now in their files. This service was called the RG, now it has changed name but they go on spying in public places, cafés, meetings, groups…, the French citizens.

The lesson I got is to be more vigilant and to see guests before opening the ceremonies to them and above all scan them with my inner sight to discover any hidden agenda. This is what I do daily, not to judge but to evaluate what I can discuss with anyone.

You know why I feel more freedom writing in English and yet…
