El Paraiso
The loss of our illusion of love when we depart paradise

This sadness threatens to rip open my chest.
As she smiles across from me wearing her blue summer dress.
I listened while her words shook my memories lost to distress.
Her soft spoken voice resting upon my happy futures death.
I drown inside questions to answers she teased with me unsaid.
She drank from a glass ignoring comforts pleas of dread.
Aware of the distance in our shared separate lives.
I watch the ending of our love drift from her eyes.
