Editor’s Pick #3: 10 Valuable Life Lessons You Can Learn From These Under-the-Radar Writers
Familiarise yourself with these writers and watch your life soar.
Have you ever read a story on Illumination, and halfway through, paused and thought, “gosh, this is good”?
Your head nodding as every word hits home.
And when you reach the conclusion, you take a deep breath and whisper, ‘WOW’ and you can’t wait to share it with your friends.
Me too!
Well, here are some more gems for you to read and share with your friends: Editor’s Pick — 10 Valuable Life Lessons You Can Learn From These Under-the-Radar Writers.
As an editor for Illumination Publication, I read them and thought you HAVE to at least cast an eye over these stories and get to know these writers.
They may be under-the-radar for many readers, but their stories impart life wisdom that I didn't even know, I didn't know!
Ready?
Let’s get going…
#1: Tyler Fountain admits he is a novice at life and learning every day. His story about Practicing Gratitude is a testimony to his life’s teachings.
The story made me reflect on how tremulous a year 2020 has been.
It has affected us all in different ways.
Tyler Fountain’s article provides a twist to a simple framework we can adopt to have a better 2021.
#2: Nuno Fabiao is a single father of two girls with a 9–5 job. He takes his writing seriously.
Every post is an opportunity to improve your skills as a writer, a parent, and citizen of the world.
There is nothing fancy here, just good common sense, which is easy to forget in the chaos of daily life.
#3: Panos is a storyteller by heart. This story deals with a fear we all face: The fear of rejection.
The fear of rejection is real and keeps many of us stuck living unhappy lives.
Panos reminds us—we’re meant for better than that.
Read Panos’ story of how he overcame fear and share what lessons you can learn from his journey. Remember to clap and click to follow his work.
#4: Jo Ann Harris is an author, parent, book devotee, writer, copywriter, and film fanatic, who knows a thing or two about navigating life’s difficulties.
Jo Ann Harris’s life wisdom shines through.
You might want a tissue as you read this story about the power of forgiveness.
#5: Rafay Zeeshan is a Workout Enthusiast. Writer. Love all kinds of bread. His story is an insight into the power of choice.
Here, the choice we face between discipline and freedom.
I see Rafay Zeeshan as the type of writer who makes you think, ponder your personal values and beliefs, and gives you techniques, if you chose, to recalibrate your life.
#6: Julee Everett is a writer, reader, observer. People enthusiast. Any story with the headline: What’s Your Spirit Muppet? deserves a read!
#7: Shivendra Misra wants you to live your best life. And one tool he offers is meditation. Forget everything you might have heard about meditation and read Shivendra Misra’s article. You’ll be enlightened (pun intended!!)
#8: Fahim Chughtai is a life coach and psychologist. He combines these skills to support you go after the life you want! No shortcuts allowed!
Fahim Chughtai tells you what most people don’t want to hear about changing your life!
If you’re ready for some tough love, Fahim Chughtai is your human.
#9: Liberty Ann says she knows a thing, maybe two — particularly with saving money as a former shopaholic!
With the Festive Holidays around the corner, the lure of 2021 pulling us forward, and the reality of living with a pandemic, it’s an excellent time to press pause and explore simple ways to save money!
Liberty Ann writes from personal experience, and freely share her warts and wins, so yes, hands down, I’d agree she knows a thing or two about ways to win at life.
#10: Adan Kovinich acknowledges she is an anxious 20-something-year old writing about all things sales, finance, love, sex, and mental illness. Her story, Did You Tell Your Rapist to Stop? is sad, unjust and unfair.
Unfortunately, Adan Kovinich’s story is genuine.
It made me mad.
It made me cry.
Also, I want to give her a hug, commend her bravery and kick the perpetrator in the balls! (Yep, I went there.)
For me, that’s the power of reading a story that stops you in your tracks. It causes an intense visceral response.
What’s Next…
As you can see, my Editor’s Picks are writers from all walks of life.
These ten writers may be under-the-radar, new to writing on Medium and sharing their message with the world, yet with our support, encouragement and good cheer, we can help them become stronger writers, stand out more and touch more hearts.
Imagine how heartened they will feel knowing you read their work, applied the action steps suggested, or reconsidered a situation based on something they wrote.
Imagine, when they become Top Writers in their respective niches, and because of the support we gave them, you can marvel and say, “I remember when they first started writing, now look at them.”
Imagine their joy.
