You know what an earworm is, right? It’s a song that gets stuck in your ear, burrows it’s way into your brain and gets stuck there for the WHOLE DAMN DAY!
Some are good and some are bad… as a preschool teacher, I was subject to the truly evil earworms of Baby Shark (doo doo doo doo doo doo) and The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Ugh…🤢
Without further ado, I give you a list of my FAVORITE vintage earworms that I could sing along to all day, any day. 😁
Kansas: Carry on My Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind
I can tap my toes and sing along with both these classics at any point in time.
Fun fact: Carry on my Wayward Son worked wonders for potty-training toddlers and I would play it while the kids where attempting to do their “business”. I’m not sure why, but I didn’t argue with it because it worked! 🤣💩
Earth, Wind and Fire: September
Can anyone resist dancing and singing along to such a great song???
Creedence Clearwater Revival: Have you ever seen the Rain?
This one gets stuck hard and fast in my brain! LOVE IT!
The Beatles: Let it Be
“Let it be, Let it be, Let it be, Let it Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…”
The Bee Gees: Stayin’ Alive
Anyone else start thinking about A Night at the Roxbury? Anyone?
The Emotions: Best of my Love
“I like the way you make me feel about you, baby…” ❤
Blondie: Heart of Glass
Between the “La, da, da, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la” and the hypnotic beat, this one is an earworm favorite of mine.
Don McLean: American Pie
I DARE you to not sing along, therefor allowing it to get stuck on repeat in your mind.
Fleetwood Mac: Go Your Own Way and Dreams
I close this list with two of my utmost favorite songs that I can listen to over and over again. And if you can’t, you may want to think again before agreeing to a road trip with me. 😉
And there you have it! My favorite earworms/vintage classics. Do you have a favorite earworm? Let me know in the comments! 😁
